Bank holiday for Lok Sabha Election 2024: Banks will remain closed in certain Indian cities on Friday (April 19) as the voting for first phase of Lok Sabha Election 2024 will start tomorrow. The election results will be declared on June 4, 2024. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar for 2024, banks across various cities will remain closed on election day.
Bank holidays are not the same across all the states in India but vary from state to state depending on regional holidays. In India apart from national and regional holidays, banks remain closed every Sunday and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
Bank Holiday For Lok Sabha Election 2024: Cities Where Banks Will Remain Closed On April 19
Banks in the cities of Chennai, Aizawl, Itanagar, Jaipur, Agartala, Shillong, Dehradun, Kohima, and Nagpur will be closed on April 19, 2024.

All employees of government, private, and business establishments in the state of Nagaland will receive paid time off on Friday, April 19, 2024, the voting day, to allow them to participate and exercise their right to vote. The holiday was announced by the Home Department of Nagaland.
Tamil Nadu Bank Holiday
The Tamil Nadu government has also announced a public holiday on April 19.
